Our Community

The Pittsburgh County Fair is largely created communially. Most of the events, activities, and experiences are made by individuals in the community, the person or small team who operate small, high-value businesses, or dedicated groups and organizations. And when it all comes together is when it really becomes special. Below are the members of the Fair community, some have logos and brand names, and others don’t.

Bonesetter Nursery- urban backyard nursery specializing in growing straight species native perennials from seed.

Pittsburgh Center for Creative Reuse- a non-traditional art supply shop where people donate used art and craft supplies, as well as shop for these unique items all in the same location.

Offering a reused crafting buffet at the Fair.

National Young Farmers Coalition- Working to shift power and change policy to equitably resource our new generation of working farmers.

Briar Bird

Happy Day Dessert Factory- Local North Side favorite featuring premium homemade hard ice cream, soft serve, water ice, and frozen yogurt.

Allegheny County Conservation District- Offering complimentary on the spot soil lead testing at the Fair. Bring samples to the Fair for testing by following these instructions.

JL Kennedy Meats- Fifth Generation Family farm specializing in hand raised high quality meats.

Knit Pit

This Green City- Full service landscaping and design specializing in permaculture and native plants.

Hosts the Native Plant Advocacy Lounge at the Fair where anyone is welcome to sip herbal teas and relax.

Three Rivers Alliance of Serious Homebrewers

Allegheny City Brewing- North Side neighborhood-focused craft brewery known for approachable beer and community atmosphere.

Lula La Chula- Oaxacan Cuisine

The Ross Farm/ Bossmare Shearing

Western Pa Mushroom Club

Future is Nuts- micronursery in Wilkinsburg, Pa specializing in fruit and nuts trees.

Onondaga Nation Farm- sharing Haudenosaunee culture through plants and food.

Pittsburgh Community Science Workshop

Soulshine Home & Body Works- Making high-quality products accessible to all. All body products are intentionally crafted to support wellness and eliminate toxins from day-to-day life. Pittsburgh-born and raised, dedicated to providing high-quality, locally sourced, and made goods.

Art created through wandering Pittsburgh’s alleyways, forests, and cityscapes to “gather” discarded materials to transform into wearable art, 2D, and sculpture.

Also famously the Fair’s sorghum pressing demonstrator and 2024 Tomato Champion.

City Farms- City of Pittsburgh urban agriculture support program.

The Pickled Chef- Featuring locally sourced homemade canned and jarred products, plus serving a menu of grilled cheeses at the Fair.

Unfortunately will not be present in 2026!
Quilting Bee
A welcome community activity to make a quilt together led by Marget.
Eco Prints
Use locally gathered leaves and flowers to make your own prints on cards, led by T.

Pennsylvania Game Commission- offering information on managing and protecting wildlife as well as hunting and trapping. Ask them about your groundhogs!

Farmer Girl Eb- Operating two urban farm sites in the City that offers gardening programming to community members and children, also runs a community grocery in the West End.
Bitter Ends Food
Beloved food pop up who operates the Apple Pie contest and new Sourdough contest.
Rotten Fresh
Farm specializing in dried flower crafts and artwork and fermentables.

Pittsburgh Department of City Parks
Jennifer’s Basketry and Botanicals
