What Is a Quilting Bee

A Quilting Bee is a sit down and quilt event where all are welcome and everyone works together to make one quilt. The “Bee” part has origins as an old English word that generally means help from neighbors and was used when the community would gather together to perform a shared task. The stitches in a Quilting Bee bind multiple layers of cloth and transform three separate parts into one – representative of binding, creating community, creating warmth. No need to bring anything as all supplies will be provided and there is no experience necessary to join in. Taking place throughout the day at the Fair.

The finished quilt will be raffled off to support Casa San Jose.
